The ninth edition of “Four To The Floor” is here. Diynamic Music’s very own various artist series, which is always comprised of four dancefloor oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world. Dee Montero from Belfast delivers the opening track “Halcyon”, an emotional house track with deep strings. Number two is Diynamic regular Thyladomid with his contribution “Exit”. Up next is the dark and gloomy Techno track “Nebular” by Raxon from Dubai, and, closing off, the heavy, guitar-laden “Dark Place” by Spanish duo Lopezhouse.
Juno Review: In the decade since it was established, Solomon’s label has gone from underground outfit to the home of Boiler Room-leveling anthems. The most notable thing though is that it hasn’t lost its identity along the way -and it still puts out killer underground house. Dee Montero’s “Halcyon” is a classic Diynamic tune, with soaring, dramatic strings taking off over a building electronic groove. It’s exactly the kind of tune that the label is known and respected for. On Thyladomid’s “Exit”, the mood changes – crashing percussion and underpinning a cacophony of acid-led trippiness, while Raxon’s “Nebular” is a menacing, minimal affair, resounding to rolling snares. Closing the release is Lopezhouse’s “Dark Place”, which resounds to an acid-soaked throbbing groove.
