Manchester tech house duo System2 are comprised of Danny Hevingham and Tez Hurst who formed the project back in 2014 although they’ve both been producing since the mid noughties. Their new one for local hero Josh Butler’s Origins is more of the same quality you’ve come to expect from them, as heard on top labels such as Politics Of Dancing, Viva Music and Roush. Not to mention their eponymous vinyl only imprint which is now five releases strong. On “Sunscreen” prepare for deep latin tribalism that is looped to perfection in the vein of DJ Sneak’s legendary Sneaky Trax series. It gets a wicked remix by the legend Bushwacka up next, giving it a summery and slinky liquid tech house makeover. Finally “Glass Eye” gets back to the program on this sleazy and druggy number for after hours sessions on The White Isle. We really rate System2 and are glad to see more of their stuff on digital, top stuff!
