German minimal maestro Sven Tasnadi returns. He’s known for some massive tunes in the mid-noughties minimal boom on labels such as liebe*detail, Smallville and on fellow Leipziger Matthias Tanzmann’s now defunct Cargo Edition. Speaking of which, the latter’s main imprint Moon Harbour is where Tasnadi has found his comfort zone of late, but this release on Berlin powerhouse Katermukke is a welcome addition to his discography too. The moody and atmospheric journey track “Change” features some captivating use of melody over brooding bass frequencies, tightly programmed rhythms and evocative pads: it’s altogether a wonderful combination of elements geared to create perfect dancefloor drama. This track was part of Katermukke’s 150 compilation (which Tasnadi did a fabulous DJ mix for) alongside fellow tech house heroes Lady M, Paji and Dirty Doering.
