Each year our Miami compilations celebrate the kind of jams we would want to hear as we wandered from party to party down South Beach during the city’s two week dance music celebration in March. This DJ sampler includes 4 previously unreleased tracks./
First up is Philip Z who follows up his releases on DFTD and Paul’s Boutique with this party stormer for us. “Yala” brings looping guitars, sun-kissed horns and infectious afro vocals and wraps them up in a killer beat.
Next we are happy to have Sebb Junior back on the label. Last year he collaborated with Sammy Deuce on the soulful deep house jam “If You Got Love” and, since then, his productions have gone from strength to strength. When I was discussing remixes of “Hallelujah” with David Penn, he felt the same way and so we asked Sebb to add his touch to our gospel house cut. Sebb takes it deep but doesn’t lose the groove. This is a real burner!
Italian production team Our Anthem are next. “All Of Me” features the brilliant vocals of Shawnee Taylor and was co written by Duane Harden so this one 100%% has Miami party vibes written all over it.
Lastly, Kevin McKay has remixed Adyn’s version of “Touch Me”. We love the original Alisha Warren version with its Louie Vega production and asked Kevin to do a mix that showcased Louie’s wicked bassline from the time. He’s gone with that classic M1 organ sound.
