In the year Toolroom celebrated its 15th birthday, ‘Best Of 2018′ reflects on one of the labels biggest years to date. Highlights include Weiss’ summer anthem ‘Feel My Needs, Camelphat’s longstanding The no. 1 remix of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ and Sterling Void’s classic ‘Summer Of Love’ anthem ‘It’s Alright’, which was given the remix treatment 30 years from its original release. The album features 50 key tracks from the likes of Mark Knight, Friend Within, Illyus & Barrientos, Danny Howard, Eli Brown, Secondcity, Booka Shade, Dario D’Attis, Tube & Berger, Format:B, Leftwing:Kody, Dale Howard, GotSome and many more. Two full-length DJ mixes, mixed by House music’s most refreshing and exciting duo, Illyus & Barrientos complete the package.

As you’d expect, given the label’s runaway success over the past few years, there are plenty of very familiar cuts on this 52-track ‘best of’ from the all-conquering Toolroom, including GotSome’s tribal smash ‘Nomad Chat’, label boss Mark Knight’s infuriatingly catchy, flute-driven Shovell collab ‘Selecao’, Mendo’s sample-heavy G-houser ‘Mooving’ and CamelPhat’s remix of Fatboy Slim. But there are plenty of less heavily rinsed gems on offer too, and with tracks from the likes of D.Ramirez, Leftwing & Kody, Dosem, DJ S.K.T and Dale Howard plus reworks of Sterling Void and Todd Terry classics, it’s a no-brainer for tech-house jocks on a budget.
