Before our dancefloor recess starts, I want to make sure you play nice. OK?

Now, listen here, this is a very nice digital only compilation of eleven tracks and there’s no reason to be mean to them. Some tracks are very sweet. Some are very tough. Some tracks will grow on you. Others may smack you in the face right away and that’s OK! No matter what happens out there, we’re sure if you have a big heart and an even bigger USB stick, these misfit tunes from local and international friends of Super Tuff will be a welcome addition to your collection.

Over here are some very nice tracks from our UK friends. Yes, there are two emotional ambient interludes. The first in the form of “Glad Tidings” from Edinburgh’s Percy Main, headmaster of Lionoil Industries. Next, “Re Active” from Australian by-way-of London ambient mastermind Arthur Miles, and capping things off, London’s Metropolitan Soul Museum contributes a weird and winding mallet-led house jam with “Gaining Consciousness.”

On the Brooklyn side of the playground, fast rising producer and Sorry Records label head Tony G drops an analog-infused earworm with “Jazz Trance.” Neighborhood boy M. Vaughan resamples a Super Mario theme into a dark house banger with “I Just…” and breakbeat badass Jonny Oso offers up a beautifully crafted breaky ditty with “Loner Stance” alongside labelmate S. Knoll’s “Been Here Before” a fucked up and sharply sculpted techno excursion. Close friend Malik Hendricks of Money Cat records serves up a slice of jazzy classic NY house track with “Ahmax” meanwhile, across the Hudson river, mad scientist from NJ Lektor Scopes cooks up a massive Jersey-club peak time concoction he calls “Ascend.”

Forming the DC alliance, Hot Coffee crafts “Forbidden Fruit”–a sultry, room-warming deep house track and close friend Chris Kennedy takes things up a notch with the breaky, pad driven “Wine.”
