Montreal-based Quebecois musician Priori is a DJ and live act as well as a studio wizard. He plays bring smooth and hypnotic sounds to his work and this tasteful debut on Dust World is another case in point. “Scn 1” works you into a lather with its warm, steamy chords racing over clipped and kinetic drums. “Scn 2” dips into hyper speed dub techno minimalism that leaves you in a trance and “Scn 3” then pulls back to a more cavernous and meandering dub house groove filled with atmospheric pads. “Scn 4” closes out with some of that impeccable Basic Channel lushness to leave you utterly relaxed.
