Hydrogen Inc. is back after an extended summer break with the return of label favourite Volkan Erman to the label with his brand new single ‘Abstract Code’ which has lit up dance floors worldwide since it’s limited promo release. Whether it’s the deeply delicious uplifting melodies and dramatic strings of ‘Abstract Code’, there can be no denying that Volkan is on a roll. His distinctive collaborative style and attention to detail marks him out as having unique creative talent. For the official full-length release, we are treated to stunning reworks from sound kings and beat maestros Feri & Bablak.
The first remix finds Feri delivering a new take on the track with a pulsing, tight drums. The track weaves through sharp transitions and effects before it crashes into a frenzied drop and build. Smart use of the chords and bits are layered for maximum groove. Tightly layered percussive energy pulls this remix forward and into frenzy. The Feri remix is a melodic chunky gem, making this a serious dance floor rework. Hot!
The second rework comes from Bablak which sounds like it’s been made specifically to close sets and send the dance floor in to a complete frenzy. Epic is a good word to describe this thundering remix that shows a lot of love to the original all while adding a new dimension of percussive concepts. It starts off with a thick layer of sub-bass intertwined with short but driving toms. The bass line is firm and menacing, pushing the track forward. There’s really not much else to say, we’ll just let the music do the talking.
