Juno Review: When setting up his Reptile Dysfunction label last year, Doorly promised to promote the work of some of the many up-and-coming producers he’s met on his travels. This expansive EP, which gathers together collaborations with, and original productions by, some of those talented newcomers, sees him deliver on that promise. Highlights wise, we’re really enjoying the low slung disco house/afro-house fusion of Colour Castle and Doorly’s “Stay Hungry”, the sun-kissed Latin piano motifs and shuffling deep house beats of Blantyre’s “Come In” and the bass-heavy hip-house pump of Charlie Rope’s “Cue Da Q”. That said, Charlie Rope’s brilliantly summery “Afrodizzy Dub” of Griff’s “Pawn The Monkey” is pretty darn special, too.
