This time it’s Dub Taylor, not Tigerskin. Yes, Alex Kruger’s rootstechno project. When you ask him about the meaning of the title forhis new Ep on Sender, he will hardly give you an answer. Becauseit’s his little secret. Instead of many words he gives us 4 incredibledeep dub techno tracks, each a universe of its own. ‘Concentration’is based on an unreleased gem from Dub Taylors extensiverecordings for his last artist album ‘Humatron’ from way back in2008. The original idea was stripped down to the bone and rebuiltto become a minimal stomper par excellence in 2017. ‘TripleDistilled’ is a collaboration with Dj and Berliner-of-choice Nadine. It delivers dark and noisy chord stabs, very much like lightningstrikes, supported by polyrhythmic percussion and a subtle trumpetlick. Both Artists met in 2012 when Nadine was still bartender andartist-care at Nurembergs Mitte Soundbar. They managed to stay intouch over the years and finally met for a drink at the studio in late2016 to start work on this powerful tune. ‘Rise Of The Red Disc’shypnotic but forward-pushing Chordlines and incoming andoutgoing analogue synthlines, artefacts and heavy use of springreverbs over a rolling house beat mark this piece as a journeythrough Dub Taylors classic deep style.
