Outcast Oddity is part of the Lobster Theremin stable, and it is also home to Sebastian Voigt. The upcoming producer debuted on the label last year, and now they have commissioned remixes of tracks from that EP. First up is Tim Van de Meutter aka Locked Groove, who is tasked with reworking “Untitled”. Starting with lazy, hazy break beats, he works his way through an acid segue and then into an epic sounding, rolling groove. Simon Haydo delivers the second reshape. In his hands, Voigt’s “Everything and Nothing” is transformed using subtle back beats and the kind of warbling 303 lines that recall Chicago acts like Phuture. It’s an idiosyncratic package from one of Lobster Theremin’s most interesting sub-labels.
