Three years on from his first appearance on Studio Barnhus, multi-talented Matt Karmil returns to the eccentric Swedish imprint. He’s in a surprisingly positive mood on opener “All Together”, a chunky slab of skewed loop-house brilliance whose slipped 4/4 drums come laden with sweet, saucer-eyed samples and jaunty stabs. The celebratory mood is enhanced further by the DJ Sneak style bounce of “Meg”, before he serves up the polyrhythmic madness of “UG”, where synthesized bells, loved-up chords and bombastic sub-bass take centre stage.
