Review:
German DJ Marcel Vogel began resplicing soul and disco at the turn of the millenium, convinced that he had to something unique to contribute to the scene. After moving to Amsterdam in 2010, he founded Lumberjacks In Hell: initially as a conduit for his own edits and productions. Soon after, he found himself releasing original tracks from his musical heroes and bringing the ‘Lumberjacks’ sound to clubs and festivals all over the globe. British institution BBE helps Vogel celebrate eight years in the business here, with a bunch of fresh cuts that will truly shine under that disco ball. Highlights include the lo-slung funk groove of Beam Me Up’s “Rabbit’s Foot”, some well dusted deepness for listening to in the dark courtesy of Funk Butcher (feat.
