Since offering up the first Dance Ideas EP in early 2018, Beats of No Nation has yet to offer-up a dud. In fact, the Aussie imprint’s selections for the multi-artist EPs have so far been flawless. Predictably, the material showcased on volume six is up to the series’ usual high standards. Huge Jackman and Local Support lead the way with ‘Ethereal Cereal’, a bubbly fusion of proto-house, 21st century acid and bouncy nu-disco, before Earnest J wraps warming synth-pop sounds around a tactile deep house groove on ‘Electric Air’. Hada mixes things up via a deep, dubby chunk of experimental D&B (‘Epiphony’), while Jawgoh delivers ultra-deep and chunky house flavours (‘Two Many One Times’). Arguably best of all though is the sparkling new-age house bliss of Philip Budny’s superb ‘Halyard’.
