Stuttgart based artist Detmolt makes his EP debut on Northern Germany based label Underyourskin Records after being responsible for a remix treatment on Oberst & Buchner’s track ‘Moira’ that came out in June on the label. His newest contribution ‘Madlen’ that comes together with remixes from Shkoon and Paul Valentin is dedicated to the label’s downtempo sound and starts off with an detailed enriched synth before a nodding bass sets in and defines the groove and pace of the track. In the course of the track the catchy synth is loosend and supported by piano chords as well as diverse soundscapes in the same tonality. Shkoon’s remix comes along with a more reduced bassline therefore the duo puts more emphasis on the melodic aspect of the track by giving it an oriental twist that in combination with the more lush bass turns it to slightly more peaky number. Paul Valentin’s approach highlights the given synthchords which are worked into dreamy yet fordward going soundscapes that still keep the original’s downtempo vibe but makes you lose your mind higher spheres.
