After two remixes for Satori and Birds of Mind Dutch producer El Mundo finally makes his EP debut on Underyourskin Records. ‘Ajuy’ consists out of three original tracks ‘Ajuy’ ‘Tesujate’ and ‘Tesejerague’ and a remix from Southern German trio PHCK who contribute their approach to the EP’s title giving cut ‘Ajuy’. Starting off rather calm the title track ‘Ajuy’ sets the tone with a chimesound as well as various detailed sound effects and a vocal snippet before a clap marks the pace of it and introduces its listener to an arpeggio. The track then takes a dark and floating path with diverse synthchords added and subbed with chanting vocals before a guitar riff sets in for the break. El Mundo then makes use of multiple clap sounds paving the track’s way out of the break and reintroducing the dark synthpatterns in a way as if the Sirens sang its listeners into a state of trance. PHCK’s remix to ‘Ajuy’ makes you daydream about music in every possible way. While slowing down the tempo of the original a bit PHCK maintain to stay true to the original sounds. By extending the sounds’ endurance they allow them more space so the result is an alldaydreaming rework that makes one lose the feeling of time and space. ‘Tesujate’ sounds like a sacred piece of music that manages to combine a bright and clear vocal with a drifting bass line that is enriched with shadowing synthchords that either set the tone of the track or softly accompany the vocal. The EP’s last track ‘Tesejerague’ satiesfies its listeners with a percussive subbed bass line catchy piano chords and ever returning vocals who seem to bridge summer and autumn.
